Add it to the list!

“Add it to the list” has become a bit of an ongoing joke in our house at the moment. With a monstrous list of about a gazillion things that need doing to make our house a home, plus the fact that this house fights back (seriously it’s clinging on to the 1970’s like it’s life depends on it) things can become a little overwhelming to say the least.

Each time we take a step forward the house screams NO STOP, I DON’T LIKE IT. CAN’T CHANGE. WON’T MAKE ME! But we are determined to drag it kicking and screaming into the present.

So we have a list. A long list. And each time we uncover some other disastrous attempt at DIY by its previous owners we add it to that list. To give you an idea of what I’m talking about when we first moved in we discovered the house had an obscene number of thermostats, 4 to be exact.  Only one of which works but the other 3 were still fitted proudly to the walls.

I’m hoping that by keeping this blog it will enable us to look back at what we have accomplished on our to dos so far, give us a big ol’ pat on the back and make the rest seem a little less daunting.
